Hi everyone.

Please bear in mind that while I do try to check the blog everyday, I may not be able to due to personal reasons. I will try to check at least once every 2 days and keep all information updated.

Now for the tag replies...

"Candy tm: I don't have swimwear.Very hard to find leh...can don't include swimming activities or can I don't participate in it if I nvr bring swimwear?"
There will not be any water activities during the camp. The swimwear is useful for the trekking to the summit as it is more comfortable and dries faster if compared to cotton-based inner-wear. From my own experience, it is a good way to prevent rashes if we use swimwear in place of normal inner-wear.

"3e1 chairman: er... so on 8 march, we oni put our bags at sch, then on 9 march we will go, is it??"
Yes. The reason we ask everyone to bring your bags on the Monday is to prevent any problems such as forgetting to bring something important. If you do forget, you still have Tuesday to bring it.

"lol: do we sleep with random classmates ? How many people per tent ?"
The tent that you will be using is a 6-man tent but only 5 people will be allocated to a tent. As for the groupings, you will definitely be sleeping with your classmates but most likely your tent-buddies will not be assigned to you.

"ahhh: does the rope challenge excueses thoese with height phobia ?"
Even before going for the high ropes challenge course, you will be trying out a similar course which is less than half a metre off the ground. This is to build your confidence and assure you that the course is safe. One of the reasons we do such activities is to get you out of your comfort zone, so if you do not stretch yourself, you won't really know your true potential as a person.

"VL: i jus get my form signed by my parents as i didnt get to see them when im home and i jus got my passport from ICA building yesterday. so is it too late?to hand it in?"
Its never too late to hand in the form. It would have been much easier if it had been done earlier though. Do pass the form to Ms Engracia Lim or Mr Halim personally on Monday or Tuesday latest.

I hope this round of tag replies answer your queries. Do exercise a bit of patience as I am not online 24 hours a day.

"unknown: careful! the t shirts that the school ordered may not be given to students.last year's batch most did not receive the large sizes"

Allow me to explain the situation on the t-shirts last year.

Without going into details, there was a miscommunication between the delivery driver and the t-shirt printing company which we ordered the t-shirts from. At the camp itself, we checked with those students who ordered the large size if they didn't mind taking a smaller sized t-shirt or if they preferred to wait for the large size.

Those who opted to wait were given the t-shirts which was delivered to us several days after the camp. No student approached Ms Kerry Lim or myself after that requesting for the camp t-shirt. If they had done so, we would have gladly given them the shirts.

May I suggest "unknown" to speak to Ms Kerry Lim or Mr Halim personally to resolve the issue.

This year, we are getting Synergy Dynamics to help us with the t-shirt printing. They will be bringing the shirts on Tuesday (9 Mar) for distribution.

Hi everyone.

Thanks for attending the briefing today. We hope that you have a clearer picture of what you can expect at the camp.

From today until Thursday, we need your help with the following;
1) Photocopy of passport
Please pass a copy of your passport detail page to your FT/CFT or Ms Engracia or Mr Halim as Rod from Synergy Dynamics needs to apply for the permit from the Malaysian authorities. Final day of submission is this Thursday morning (25 Feb)

We are still compiling these forms. If you have not passed any of these forms, please do so as soon as you can. It is very crucial we get these forms especially the consent form. because we need a final number of camp participants to work on.

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the Greendale Secondary's "S3AC" blog. If you are wondering what S3AC stands for, its Secondary 3 Adventure Camp.

This will be the second year that GDLS is having a Sec 3 camp. In 2009, the camp was a 3D2N affair at Camp Christine located at Jalan Bahtera (off Lim Chu Kang Road). Your seniors went through many interesting and fun activities such as rockclimbing, Challenge Rope Course, abseiling, kayaking, rafting, outdoor cooking and the ever-popular campfire.

This year, we will be venturing out of Singapore for an extended Sec 3 Adventure Camp. It will be a 4D3N experience at Kota Tinggi Adventure Centre. Among the activities that you will participate in include a unique High Ropes Course nestled in the trees, a trek up to a summit of a hill on which you will spend a night (stars can be clearly seen at night!), paintball wars (yes, there's gonna be paintball at a school camp!), visits to the local town of Kota Tinggi and vegetable farm (see where Singapore gets our fresh vegetables) and of course the highlight of the camp, a campfire which be held beside a waterfall!

If this gets you excited, remember to return your consent forms and Edusave forms to your Form Teachers as soon as possible. Do look for Mr Halim or Ms Engracia Lim if you have any questions.
